      Tuesday, April 2, 2002 – The Halifax Herald Limited OUTHOUSE, Vincent Edison "Skip" OUTHOUSE, Vincent Edison "Skip" - 87, Port Maitland, Yarmouth Co., died March 30, 2002, in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Tiverton, Digby Co., he was a son of the late Simondson and Jennie Outhouse. He was a veteran of the Second World War, where he served in the Royal Canadian Navy aboard the HMCS Camrose. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 143, Port Maitland. He worked for the Canadian Coast Guard for 21 years where he served on the Lucher Light Ship and the Robert Foulis. He is survived by his companion, Hazel Hall; daughters, Carole Nickerson, Overton; Iris Johnson, St. Catharines, Ont.; Crystal (James) McDormand, Westport, Digby Co.; sons, Burton (Nettie), Port Maitland; David (Anne) Walker, Bridgewater; brother, Murray, Freeport, Digby Co.; sister, Arlene Hersey, Tiverton, Digby Co.; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Elinor Thompson; brothers, Burton Ellsworth and Alvertus. No visitation by request. Funeral service and Legion service 2 p.m. Thursday in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Rev. Donald Moses officiating. Interment in Port Maitland Beaver River Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Zone 12 (RCL) Van Fund.
