George D. Nevers, Sr., 62, of 560 Sedgwick avenue, Stratford, died today in Bridgeport hospital.
Services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Godfrey and Conway funeral home, 309 Washington avenue, by the Rev. Arthur T. Tedcastle, of Stratford Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
Born in Canada, Mr. Nevers resided in Stratford for 20 years. He was a mechanic 12 years for Sikersky Aircraft division.
Survivors are his wife Mrs. Janice Bither Nevers; three sons, George D. Jr. of Redding, Kenneth W. of Stratford, and Robert W. Nevers with the U.S. Air Force in Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Mrs. Anthony Gentile of New Haven, Mrs. Leonard Maglione of Stratford and Miss Linda Nevers of Southbury his mother, Mrs. Agnes Buchannan of Holton, Me.; two brothers, Henry A., Methuen, Mass., and Bert I. Nevers of Fairfield; three sisters, Mrs. Hillus Ingeraham and Mrs. Clarence Lee of Holton and Mrs. Paul Carter of British Columbia, Canada; 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
