Field was born at Geneva,Switzerland 16 Sep 1870 (registered as American citizen at American Consulate at birth). Father was Wm Hazard Field, b. Peekskill, NY, 5 Aug 1833 (now deceased). Permanent residence of applicant is Mohegan, NY. Occupation: gentleman farmer. His last passport was obtained over 25 years ago and has been destroyed. Intends to return to U.S. within 3 months. Will visit England, France and Switzerland. Will sail on the "Majestic" on 23 June 1923

William Bradhurst Osgood Field (1870-1949) and his family were prominent members of society in New York City and Lenox, Massachusetts during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Field was an engineer and businessman who served in the U.S. Army's Military Intelligence Division during World War I. His interests also defined him as an avid book collector, gentleman farmer, philanthropist, and sportsman. Field sat on the boards of many charitable and commercial organizations, and was a member of over twenty clubs and societies, notably serving as president of the Grolier Club
