- The first farm LeRoy rented at Milton was owned by Theresa (pronounced Tressa) Jennings, mother-in-law to Raymond Wenham, Alice's uncle. They lived there from 1949 to 1953 when they bought a farm on Milton-Shopiere Rd. Before that, the couple lived with his parents at Avalon.
They moved to their new farm in the Spring of 1953 and didn't install an indoor bathroom until after Sue was born in August, 1953. Several years later, they remodeled again, removing the dividing cupboards between the kitchen and dining room and adding closet space down the hall to the bathroom.
