Notes |
- He was the son of James Gregg and Patience Marie Eggleston Culbertson.
The 1880 federal census lists George living with his mother in Scott Twp., Freemont County, Iowa. He was working as a common laborer. Annie is living with her parents in Spring Valley, Monona Co., IA. Lessie Wolcott thinks that George and Anna may have been married in Onawa, Monona Co., IA.
In 1920 George was living in Jackson, Fall River County, South Dakota, with his children. Anna had died of TB by the time that census was taken. Although no profession is given for him, he may have been helping his mother with her ranch since he was living next door to her. Lessie Wolcott said that George moved to live near the Parson family in Hot Springs, Fall River Co., SD, and worked in a stone quarry after his wife, Anna, died. Wolcott said George and Anna are both buried in Long Pine, Brown County, Nebraska.
Parsons indicates that George died 28 April 1923.
