OCCUPATION: After his marriage (and maybe even before it), Roy was a troubleshooter for Samson Tractor Co. He would show farmers how to use the Samson Tractor and fix things that went wrong with them. Samson tractors were sold from Des Moines, Iowa. That could be why Judy Mary was born in Iowa and the other children in Wisconsin. [Source: Alice Wenham Outhouse Blue, daughter-in-law] | Roy Johnson OUTHOUSE

Some places, even family sources, say his first name was LeRoy. Published genealogy states his birthdate was 1894. That is incorrect.
In 1937, it appears that Roy is associated with Allis Chalmers. (WSJ, 27 Oct 1937) | Roy Johnson OUTHOUSE

From the book " The Long Point Settlers"
Land Petition - Received July 7, 1806 of Charlotteville; daughter of Nicholas Outhouse, UE., married Josiah Gilbert of Charlotteville, requested a grant ; OC = recommended for 200 acres.
Court Proceedings - March 12, 1806, Sarah Gilbert, wife of Josiah Gilbert, relinquished her right of dower on Lot 12, Concession 4 to John Dudbridge
Outhouse Family Genealogy: (R34) "The nearest settlement west was Malahide, 20 miles and east, Waterford, where pioneers went once a year to shop. It was almost impossible to find medical help and when Abram Gilbert dislocated his hip in an accident, they had to go to Oakland, 25 miles away to find Dr. Pomeroy. The Gilberts raised six boys and three girls. The first school was near Springford. Built of logs, it had greased paper for windows and boards supported by wooden pins driven into the walls for desks. Solid logs were seats and the pupils sat facing the wall. A fireplace at one end was fed logs by the older boys."
(R34) "Sarah Outhouse spun and wove flax and wool for clothing and even though life was harsh and hard, she dwelt with pleasure on long past days when donning a clean sunbonnet and apron was all the dressing up necessary to call on a neighbor." | Sarah OUTHOUSE

Simon of Northcastle born ca. 1735/45 was in jail 1 Aug 1783 on suspicion of robbing Paulus Levtz (NYGBR 104:12) sold his Northcastle property and removed to Haarlem. R10 and R34 believe that Simon tried to sell his inheritance before leaving New York for Canada but was arrested on trumped up charges by someone who wanted his land. He claimed losses for land and property to the English Government from New Brunswick but it is not known if he ever received anything or if he actually sold his land in New York. R57 has copies of letters showing Simon petitioned for land in New Brunswick as a former soldier but never received it as his petition was received too late.
Simon joined the Westchester Loyalists and was evacuated to New Brunswick in 1783. There he was granted 3 acres of land between Ramshack Bay and Fox Harbor at Sackville.
