Every, Clarice Mildred Doane MADISON/ BROOKLYN - Clarice Mildred Doane Every, age 95, of Madison, and formerly of Brooklyn, died on Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Meriter Health Center in Madison. She was born on March 18, 1909, in the town of Rutland, Dane County, the daughter of Elmer Alson Doane and Anna Bell Bossingham Doane. Clarice worked for the Farmer's Mutual Insurance Company in Madison for 11 years and later for the Brooklyn State Bank for 13 years, retiring in 1974. Known to all as "Gramma," she honored friends and family with her good-natured humor and delicious meals. She gave freely, and will be dearly remembered. Survivors include her son, Thomas Owen (Eleanor) Every of Lodi; her daughter, Barbara Ann Every Banks of Tucson, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Thayer Every, Treasure Every, Tya (William) Kottler, Troy Every, Ann Scherz, Paul (Marsha) Scherz; and five great-grandchildren. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Mac" Every, in 1984; and a brother, Curtis Doane. A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2004, at the BROOKLYN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. In celebration of Clarice's long life of giving to others and service to her family, friends and community, memorials may be made in her name to the Brooklyn United Methodist Church, 210 Church St., Brooklyn, WI 53521. | Clarice Mildred DOANE
