Married 40 years ago today, Mr. and Mrs. Dale C. Lester, are quietly observing their anniversary at their home, 218 North Pearl Street.
Mr. Lester and Miss Bessie Gourlay, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark C. Goulay, Victor, were married in the Baptist Church parsonage by the Rev. George E. Finlay, on March 8, 1920. They were attended by the bride's sister, Miss Orrene Gourlay, and R. Leslie Gifford, Canandaigua, who later married.
Son of the late S.F. Lester, a former YMCA secretary, and Mrs. Lester of this city, Mr. Lester retired in 1952 after 32 years in the milk business. He is now a bus driver for the Canandiagua Central School District. He is a vetera of World War I, a 40 year member of Canandaigua Post American Legion, and a member of its original drum and bugle corps.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Lester are active members of the First Methodist Church. Mrs. Lester, a registered nurse, is a graduate of Thompson Hospital Nurses Training School. For a number of years, she has been engaged in the catering business.
