Avalon Girl is Bride of Madison Newspaperman
July Mary Outhouse, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy j. Outhouse, Avalon, became the bride of Richard W. Vesey, Madison, in Bethel Lutheran Church, Madison Sept 18 the Rev. F.L. Schmidt read the service and the rev. David Johnson read the prayers.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an imported chantilly lace and nylon tulle dress styled with chapel train. A ?? held her veil and she carried a cascade of orange blossoms and roses.
Miss Myrtle Onsrud, maid of honor, wore a green nylon tulle dress with a six-tiered skirt, topped by alencon lace bodice. She carried chrysanthemums.
Similar ensembles in toast, champagne and gold were worn by the bridesmaids, the Misses Sedora Brostuen, Dorothy Lacy and Elsa Stolnhofer. Flower girl Lynn Louise Outhouse appeared in a seashell coral frock. Dennis Zweifel carried the rings.
David Vesey was best man for his brother. Users were Robert C. Bjorkland, Glenn E. Miller and John R. Prindell, all members of the Wisconsin State Journal editorial staff.
A reception was held at Kennedy Manor before the couple left for a honeymoon in Florida. Both Mr. and Mrs. Vesey are University of Wisconsin graduates. The bride formerly taught in high school in Marathon and Walworth counties. Mr. Vesey is a member of the editorial staff of the State Journal.
