- (R5) Village of Clement - 1st merchandising was done by Joseph W. Huey in 1854. The store was situated on the ground now occupied by Oliver Outhouse's mercantile house. The Clement I.O.O.F Lodge was organized on 30 Apr 1880 and Oliver outhouse was one of five charter members (p.268). [10]
