In 1807 they moved to South Norwich, Oxford Co, Ontario, clearing land that later became Springford. They had two sons, Peter and Benjamin, and one daughter, Selina, at this time. They brought the first horse in Norwich with them. Oxen were generally used for traveling and plowing. Sarah was often seen riding horseback with her infant and a bag of wheat, on her way to Longpoint to have the wheat ground into flour. Staying overnight with family, she returned the next day with baby and flour, the trip taking 2 days."
