Ancestry Message Board -- I haven't done much work on this line but I do have some census listings. In 1850 they were in the Town of Madison, Lenawee Co., Mich: Charles Henika 49 Shoemaker NY, Charlotte 38, Mary 18, Emily 15, George 12, Cassimer 9, Adalaide 7. I haven't followed up any of these children. They are not in Deerfield Twp or Madison Twp in 1860, I haven't looked elsewhere. In 1870 the Seymour Porter family are living with Charles, Charlotte and Emily Henika. The Porters have a daughter Minnie, 8. There is also a toddler in the house, Addie Billiers (sp?). Perhaps this is the child of one of the other Henika daughters? (Adalaide?) In 1880 Charles appears to be deceased, the Porters are still living with Charlotte and Emily (mislisted as Emma Porter). The Porters have two daughters in 1880, Minnie 18 and Elizabeth A. 13. This is a little confusing, Elizabeth is old enough that she should have been in the 1870 entry but wasn't. She is the same age as the toddler, Addie Billiers, however . Could Elizabeth A Porter be Addie Billiers? Perhaps she was Elizabeth Adalaide Billiers and they adopted her? Charles Henika is said to have been born Feb 26, 1801 in Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY and had about 14 siblings. Emmanuel is said to be from Germany, Johannah Hoener ditto, as far as I know their home towns have not yet been identified. Hope this helps, Walt Sammis.
