- S.R. Durand: "Philip Durand graduated from Yale University in 1955 and served as a 1st Lieutenant in the U. S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959, stationed part of this time on Okinawa. He graduated from the University of Tennessee Law School in 1961 and was associated with a legal firm in Madison, Wisconsin from 1961 to 1963. He was a legal counsel in the Peace Corps in Malawi, Africa from 1963 to 1965, and a Professor of Jurisprudence at Blantyre University in 1965 and 1966. From 1967 to 1969, he was a Professor at the Kenya Institute of Administration, Lower Kabete, Kenya, Africa.
Since 1970 he was been an attorney in Knoxville, Tennessee." [2]
