Norma«b» «/b»was born in 1928 and passed away on Dec. 19, 2003 at the Niagara Falls General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Leo E. Byrnes (1993) and the daughter of the late James Emery Caldwell (d. 1952) and Carrie (Howe) (d. 1988). She was born and raised in the St. Thomas area and moved to Niagara Falls in 1944. Norma and her husband, Leo, moved to Lorraine, Ohio in 1964 and lived there until 1993 when they moved back to Niagara Falls. She leaves daughters, Marie Gravelle (Mike) of Niagara Falls; Leota Borbash of Avon, Ohio; Janice Rigda (Paul) of Lorain, Ohio, Donna Machovina (Dan) of Elyria, Ohio and Wendy Burke (Peter) of Castro Valley, California. Grandchildren Michael, Kenneth & Michelle Gravelle; Holly Minch; Andy, Sarah & Alex Rigda and Ian Burke. Great grandsons are Ben Powell Gravelle and Brennan and Deghan Rigda. One sister, Ruth Agar (John) of Iona Station. Norma was predeceased by a son Allan Byrnes (1974), a sister«b» «/b»Doreen Herr died on August 16, 2003 and a son-in-law, Joe Borbash (2000). Cremation has taken place. Memorial services to celebrate her life were at Drummond Hill Presbyterian Church on Monday, Dec. 29. Funeral arrangements were by Patterson Funeral Home. She and her sister, Doreen, were both members of the Outhouse Family Historical Society. Norma was also an avid family history researcher.
