Stanthorpe, Queensland, Australia [2] |
- He died between 26 and 29 Oct 1924 near the Sundown Mine. Death was apparently due to suicide. Mann states: "Fred Burrows was found dead near the Sundown Mine south west of Stanthorpe . He died from bullet wounds to the head somewhere between 26 and 28 October 1924. An inquest was held by Oscar Meston J.P. on 22 November 1924. He was unmarried. He was buried on his selection (Severn River, 4miles west from Sundown Mine) where he was found, 40 yards from his hut. Fred Burrows Selection is now part of the Sundown National Park and the Burrows Waterhole Campsite is a tribute to his memory."
