    • Obit Hfx Herald 28 Nov 1997 GOWER, Delmar Frederick (Fred) - 86, died November 27, 1997, in Camp Hill Veteran's Memorial Building, Halifax. Born in Westport, he was a son of the late Fred and Edna (Outhouse) Gower. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Royal Canadian Navy and was a salesman for John Leckie for a number of years. He was a commissionaire for 27 years at Maritime Command. He was a 50-year member of the Acadia Masonic Lodge; member of Chief Petty Officers Club and the Royal Canadian Legion, Scotia Branch, Halifax. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Phoebe Ina Zinck. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today, legion tribute service 7 p.m. today, followed by Masonic tribute service at 7:30 p.m., all in Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St., from where funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Rev. Bill Dye officiating. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations to any charity.
